Puerto Rican Clients on a Suspended Payment Basis: A Study of Ten Closed Cases in the Department of Family and Child Care of the New York Foundling Hospital

Rosa Maria Gandia, Fordham University

Abstract

In this dissertation, the writer will present her study of ten Puerto Rican families referred to The New York Foundling Hospital, Department of Family and Child Care, whose children have been placed on a suspended payment basis. The writer's primary idea was to use five closed cases and five active ones for her study. She was not able to do so because of limitations encountered in the number of active cases available. Consequently the writer was compelled to use only closed cases for her study; ten of these were used.
