Abstract

The study will be based on a statistical analysis of 125 unmarried mothers who were referred to the Infant and Maternity Department of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, during the months of January, February and March of 1961. This represents the total number referred during this three- month period. This time sequence was selected in order to study currently the unmarried mother in the light of the increasing number of illegitimate births reported annually.
