Abstract
As the population of a community changes there is always the possibility of new social problems being created. The present research is the study of the failure of community resources to meet some of the needs of our present population, especially the aged chronically ill.Prolonged hospitalization is a period of time a person remains in a hospital beyond that point at which the medical services can be most advantageous to him. At first, the import of this problem is not apparent until we see it in the light of the tremendous community problem it creates.
