Paranoid Schizophrenia: A Study of Casework Techniques Used With Eight Patients in the Trial Visit Program, Out-Patient Clinic, Veterans Administration New York Regional Office, 1956–1959
Abstract
Contemporary society might well be termed the era of psychological orientation. With little effort one may choose a novel to read, a play, film or television program to see which concerns the psychological and emotional difficulties of individuals and families. Modern man seems to be under a microscope, being examined and explained daily. This popular accord to the problems of emotional disturbance is in part a reflection of a scientific body of knowledge, having its roots in the 19th century. Mental illness has always existed, but the question of its nature and causes remained unanswered for centuries.
