Fund Raising Among Employee Group: A Study of the Method Used by the Greater New York Fund, 1960
Abstract
Background. No social or health agency, be it voluntary or governmental, ean function without funds. Tax money furnished by local, state, or federal governments, solves the problem for the latter, but voluntary agencies, unless heavily endowed, must constantly struggle with the problem of raising money. When the voluntary agency had collected all it could from its direct constituency, it had to go farther afield and appeal to whatever sources it could find in the community. These sources could be divided into two groups: places of business and individuals.
