Camp Counselor Training Programs: An Evaluation of the Programs of Ten Summer Camps for Children, 1959
Abstract
The writer first became interested in the subject of camp counselor training while employed as a counselor at a Girl Scout camp in 1953. Subsequently, she spent four summers at three different private summer camps. This interest was heightened by an undergraduate course in camp counselor training and by membership in the American Camping Association. All of these experiences afforded the opportunity to learn about various camping programs, personnel practices, and underlying philosophies of camping.
