Abstract

Background of the Study. Juvenile Delinquency as a social problem has been studied extensively and many attempts have been made to establish the causes of this serious social ailment. At least one positive conclusion has resulted from the research done and that is:....that aberrant behavior is usually the result of a network of many factors.Some of the causative factors are more far reaching than others and it is the following influences which are thought to be most important in determining the causes of the aberrant behavior which is manifested by the delinquent and pre-delinquent child:....birth trauma and early natal influences; early developmental period; home and family life, with particular emphasis on inter-personal relation- ships; native ability, aptitudes, interests%3 achievement; physical well-being; social adjustments; school history.
