Abstract

This study deals primarily with the section of the New York State Social Welfare Law which compels legally responsible relatives who are willing and able to do so to contribute to the support of Old Age Assistance Recipients, either upon investigation of the original application or during the period of continuing eligibility. Secondly, with the section of the State of New York Social Welfare Manual that interprets the law regarding legally and socially responsible relatives.
