A Community Organization Project at Manhattanville Community Centers, Inc.
Abstract
This dissertation is a study of an actual community organization project functioning within a community center setting, which is Manhattanville Community Centers, Inc., located at $14 West 126th Street, New York City, New York, (see Figure 1). The period involved in this study is from September, 1951, to December, 1954, during which time the project was under the direct supervision of a Director of Community Organization. The writer will attempt to evaluate the effectiveness of the practical application of the community organization process in social work in terms of basic criteria accepted by the authorities in the field.
