Abstract

This chapter will explore the background of the study. It will further explain the importance of the study and define the problem that is to be undertaken. Finally, the chapter will present the research method and the manner in which the study is organized.Background of the Study. A brief historical sketch of the development of child welfare would assist the reader in understanding the traditional role of institutions caring for children. The roles of institutions has gradually evolved until their present position has been attained. Now, the method by which they gained recognition of their value in the field of child welfare will be presented.
