William Francis Corley, Fordham University

Abstract

At the dawn of the sixteenth century a movement was felt in Europe which was destined to impress its stain on every field of social endeavor. This movement is known to us as the #Reformation", and yet it was in no sense a Reformation but as Cobbett calls it a devastation". (Reformation p. 21) This movement which in the early part of the sixteenth century, held Europe spellbound, although primarily a religious and social movement had an immediate and serious effect on Education.
