Values of Social Work Students at Fordham University School of Social Service, 1965-1966

Abstract

Unlike other professions, social work is in its infancy. Since the turn of the century social work has evolved, in an attempt to develop a theoretical knowledge base, from a more limited philanthropic approach to a broader scientifically-oriented approach. In recent years, as the need for social workers has become more widely recognized, the social work profession as well as the social worker has become the object of more intensive scrutiny.
