Methods of Teaching the Social Sciences in Junior High School

Helen Lyons, Fordham University

Abstract

The aim of education is to train the intellect, soul and body, "the whole man." This cannot be done by just sampling every "new fad" proposed by the so- called progressive educators."True education is not a variety of branches but a few well related subjects and these thoroughly taught." If this principle is followed, then we are teaching for time which will lead to a happy Eternity.
