Character Training A Defense of Its Necessities as a Basis of Education
Abstract
Within the last decade the value set on character by those who are interested in education, even though such value be limited to its expression only, has notably increased. Men have come to realize that mental training alone does not fit them satisfactorily for the stress and strain of life. The world at large sends forth an ever more insistent plea for the formation and training of the will as well as of the intellect--of the moral, the spiritual, as well as of the mental faculties of man--in a word, a plea that education shall fit the individual to "live his life " in a complete manner.
