The Use of the Project Method in the Teaching of English in the Secondary Schools

Abstract

What is the Project Method? According to Kilpatrick in his article called "The Project Method," "It is a unit of purposeful activity proceeding in a social environment." This method is an undertaking by a class or an individual, not bounded by a day's work but extending over many days.According to its various proponents such as Kilpatrick, Hosic and Snedden, it has many advantages over the old time-worn forms of procedure.
