The Christian Traditions of Government
Abstract
England today has a very complicated but thorough-working machinery of government. It is a model; from various parts of which many patterns have been taken. It is not the result of an age; it represents many such spaces of time. The second half of the Seventeenth Century and the early years of the Eighteenth Century formed a period of utmost consequence in its development. To understand the political history of the last period cited it will be necessary to review, for a time, the background of events. The fruit of knowledge is the source.
