Health an Objective in Education

Abstract

The field of preventative medicine deals with the detection of physical defects, the securing of cooperation of the parents in the treatment of these defects, and the finding and ameliorating bad home conditions which are interfering with the health and normal school progress of the children. It also takes into consideration methods of securing hygienic conditions in the school plant, hygienic supervision of school athletics and play-ground work, methods of assisting teachers in hygiene-teaching in school, and proper instruction of teachers as to their personal health.
