A Study of Outpatients' Perceptions About the Maimonides Community Mental Health Center

Alfonsiano Iacono, Fordham University

Abstract

This paper describes a survey of the perceptions of Maimonides Community Mental Health Center's outpatients toward the Agency. Completed in less than four months, between December 1969 and March 1970, the survey represented a modest, unsystematic effort to explore the relevance of impressionistic data for administrative purposes. With a non-experimental design and only a tenuous correlational capability, the study was nonetheless thought to have some epidemiological value in that the massive sociological data to be accumulated might yield germinal inferences for future pre-evaluative research.
