The New York City Junior High School Program

Abstract

The making of the program, or plan of activities which fill the school day, is among the important and far-reaching acts of school administration. The function of the principal as administrator is to provide the best possible facilities and conditions for effective teaching. To accomplish this aim as far as the program goes, he must build a schedule that will:A. Provide for the needs of his student body.B. Take into consideration the abilities of his teaching staff.C. Organize and use all building and equipment facilities to their utmost.Forethought, time, and skill expended on the making of the programs will go far toward the purchase of a smooth-running, happy and effective school.
