Differentiated Curricula in High School Mathematics on the Basis of Intelligence and Prognosis Tests

Elizabeth G Hoffman, Fordham University

Abstract

Most everyone accepts as a fact that the high school pupils of today are far different from those of twenty-five years ago. They are different, not only in their experiences and interests, but also in their inborn abilities. We are receiving in high school today a larger and larger proportion of medium or poorly-prepared pupils, pupils who have smaller powers of concentration, those of lower mentality than we were accustomed to expect in years gone by.
