The Education of the Child

George J Zentgraf, Fordham University

Abstract

Our brief discussion may seem untimely, it may seem the shadow of ancient days, and to some less progressive, even stubborn; yet is it not equally important even at this age, when men are again dwelling upon such topics, as the superiority of State over the individual and family; when nefarious organizations combine with the sole purpose of making the child, the future citizen, a slave to that State? Indeed, the education of the child is most important. We will endeavor, therefore, in the first place, to show the absolute necessity of a well planned course in the education of the child, and in the second place, seek to demonstrate the great value of an education according to Christian principles, without which home and country cannot last.
