The Financing of Extracurricular Activities in the High School
Abstract
The writer's interest in the problem of financing extracurricular activities was first aroused on the occasion of his appointment as business advisor of a high school paper. Upon asking for the financial records of former advisors, he was told that none had been kept. He, therefore, immediately installed a system of accounts in order that information regarding the condition and progress of the enterprise might be always available. Moreover, during the first year of his appointment he made a study of the accounting records of the other activities in the school and found them inadequate. Here, too, he suggested improvements.
