A Childrens Institution: A Study of Fifteen Children’s Case Records and a Follow Up Study on Five of These Children Four Years After Their Discharge From the Eighth Grade Class of September 1960 to June 1961 at the Little Flower House of Providence, Wading River, New York, 1966
Abstract
Background of the Study. Childhood is considered one of the most happy periods in one’s life. It is filled with the joys of being loved and the discovery of new experiences. These factors play a big part in the healthy development of one’s personality. There are many children who do not have a chance for this happiness. This may be the result of neglect on their parent’s part or of some unforseen circumstances that disrupted their family life. What has happened to these children, who are separated from their families, specifically those children who are placed at the Little Flower House of Providence?
