Abstract

In the last 25 years education in the United States has been experimented on and as a result its methods have been changed. The experiment that has made great progress, and which we can say is no longer an experiment is The Group Study Plan.Since the time children have been sent to school to be educated they have all learned the same material through the same methods, that is individual differences have hot been recognized. In this Cistern Plan the teacher does most of the work, filling the minds of the pupils with knowledge that she has acquired. Every once in a while she tests these pupils discovering how much material has sunk in, and how much has leaked out.
