A Study of the Relationship Between Parenting Attitudes and the Parents' Choice of Sex-Education Programs
Abstract
Americans, prone since Colonial times to band together into militant groups, seem to have increased in this propensity during the past decade. In certain areas of our country, in the latter part of the sixties, concerned parents organized into groups which vehemently opposed or approved of sex-education, in general and local school sex-education programs, in particular. Having recently designed and coordinated sex-education programs for parents, in New Jersey, the researcher became curious regarding the underlying reasons causing some parents to oppose (often violently) sex- education, in general and local school sex-education programs, in particular.
