Abstract
This study investigates the characteristics of potential investors in entity wagering, a novel investment strategy legalized in Nevada in 2015, allowing pooled funds to be wagered in sports markets. Through a survey of 201 consumers, the research aimed to identify early adopters by examining the overlap between sports fans, fantasy sports participants, and sports bettors with prospective entity wagering investors. Results confirm that these groups share similar characteristics, indicating a target market for entity wagering funds. Key findings reveal a strong interest among respondents who are male, exhibit a higher level of sports fandom, and engage in fantasy sports or sports betting. The study further establishes significant correlations between interest in entity wagering and factors such as risk tolerance and openness to new technologies. However, no significant correlations were found concerning education level, household income, and marital status. This research contributes to understanding the profile of potential entity wagering investors, providing a basis for targeted marketing strategies to foster growth in this emerging financial market.
