Abstract
This paper assesses the relationship of sectoral market capitalization distribution and employee wages of the S&P 500 Index throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. To determine the relationship between the two, I have collected financial and stock performance data of all five hundred stocks, breaking them down by sector and comparing sector and individual company performance to the rest of the index, with the ultimate goal of determining how the pandemic shaped this relationship and contributed to inequality in the United States.
