Abstract
Extensive academic literature has examined sports analytics and other drivers of on-field performance in sports. Far less has studied components of franchise valuation, including its relationship with sports analytics implementation. In this project, I want to determine the primary independent drivers of franchise valuation, whether implementation of sports analytics has been beneficial, and the degree of ownership control of valuation. I will be running multiple regression analyses for several quantitative variables and ANOVA to determine significant differences between each sport. I expect to find winning track records increase long-term value, benefits of analytics through efficient payroll allocation, and differences between sports based on revenue sharing models.
