Abstract
Abstract prepared by Sarah Breitman and Laurance Lieblich Cheryl Adams is an entomologist and was the head of the Lesbian Feminist Liberation which was a lesbian rights committee. Originally from Illinois, Cheryl went to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she received her doctorate in entomology. Cheryl moved to New York where she worked at the Museum of Natural History, as well as City University York College in Jamaica Queens for forty years. She was active in the national organization for women. As well as the head of the first lesbian Rights Committee in the Manhattan chapter. She discusses her usage of photography as a professor, but as an activist, there was a difficult relationship to photography as people would be fired, published in newspapers, evicted, and disowned by their families.
